Hook         : Grub Hook (e.g. TMC2487BL) size 12-18

Thread      : Semperfli Nano Silk (black)

Head         : tungsten bead (see below)

Tail            : grizzle cock hackle fibres

Rib            : fine wire (see below)

Abdomen : 3 pheasant tail fibres

Thorax      : Semperfli Straggle String (see below)

 

A nice and easy nymph to tie but absolutely deadly if you're a fish!

Match the size of bead to the size of hook (size 12 - 3mm, size 14-16 2.5mm, size 18 - 2mm).

Match the rib colour to that of the bead (copper rib with copper beads, gold rib with gold or black beads).

This pattern can be tied with any colour of Straggle String thorax. Just two turns and whip finish. The SF0050 and SF9750 versions accounted for huge numbers of grayling towards the end of last season as well as some truely huge individual fish!
